About the Artist

Sue Eksteen loves art and painting anything that catches her eye and tells a story. She loves it when people enjoy her art and when it brings joy to their world. There is so much beauty around us that we miss and it is wonderful to be able to paint it so that it is not lost and can be appreciated in a home on a daily basis. Art is a forever gift to someone special or to yourself. It never ages and continues to bring joy and contentment.
Sue is also a published author with five books and various short stories to her name. These can be found in bookshops, on amazon and various other internet book sites.
She is a grandmother of three delightful little girls and mother of two adult children and two great children in-law.
Her husband is a retired dentist who loves photography and Sue is a retired College lecturer. Together they enjoy music and travelling, particularly Botswana and Namibia where you are close to nature. The children and grand children complete their world.
Sue lives, with her husband, in a complex of twenty houses in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. She loves the wonderful climate where the sun shines for most of the year. Pretoria has a summer rainy season with brilliant sunshine and thunderstorms that last for about 30 minutes bringing the most divine cloud formations with thunder and lighting, to the otherwise hot and balmy days.
Winter lasts for approximately six weeks with temperatures going to around 8 - 11*C at night and approximately 16*C -  21*C during the day.
Apart from art, which is a passion, she also loves dark chocolate with nuts! She loves writing motivational books and poems.
Her motto is gratitude and she has learned to live with a heart of thanks for every new day and every bit of beauty that colours her world. She is a Christian and believes in the Creator - the greatest Artist ever - who created the awesome beauty of nature.
